
DIVISION FIVE
The goals were flying in Division Five, beginning with an eleven-goal thriller as Lonsdale travelled to face Young Royals with the goal bulging regularly in incredible 6-5 win for Lonsdale. Kalium Fletcher, Charlie Owen and Christopher Roberts were the men on targer, each scoring a brace for the visitors.
There were just the eight goals in another of the contests as Athletic Newham were the visitors to Ace Athletics, the fixture ending in a hard fought 4-4 draw. Louie Seaman scored two and one each from Owen Arbuckle and Craig Cagehin account for the Ace goals while Kudzai Marimira, Tim Mason, Robert Wooster and Charlie Clarke netted for Newham.
Manford Way are the new league leaders in Division Five after three wins on the spin and this week faced up to another side with an unbeaten record in previous leaders, Coppice Row. Scoring twice in each half, Manford took an important win with Jake Crump and Charlie Saltmarsh on the scoresheet to win 4-0.
It was a good morning’s work from Alpha who had their first home outing of the new season and produced a win on home turf, coming out on the right side of a narrow 3-2 victory against May & Baker EC at the Flats. Mikey Ward, Connor Wallace and Jake Skeet scored the goals, overcoming Baker goals from Joel Williams and Frankie Westland.
Completing the division’s action is the game from Douglas Eyre where Hainault Athletic made it two draws from their opening two games as they visited an unbeaten Mansfield Rangers side who had won their previous two. Claudius Edwards and Billy Happe struck for Rangers with Corey Richardson and Ashley White goals ensuring the ame ended 2-2.
